2020 Vision: Looking Back on 2019 and Ahead Toward Continued Impact on Reducing the Administrative Burdens Across the Patient Journey

With a 20% increase in its provider network and the launch of two Life Science connectivity integrations, 2019 was a momentous year for Annexus Health.

“In 2019 we arrived at an incredible upside inflection point as a result of our team achieving critical mass in the areas of provider uptake and life science contractual commitments,” said Annexus Health CEO and Co-Founder Joe Baffone.

The company’s recent achievements also include product enhancements, industry recognition, and internal growth.

Product enhancements

Since launching in 2018, more than 30,000 patient applications and over $200 million in patient financial assistance have been processed through the AssistPoint® platform. Annexus Health continues to improve upon AssistPoint® to better meet user needs. In 2019, the company introduced the following enhancements to the AssistPoint® platform:

• Re-imagined application wizard
• Medical benefit payments ingestion
• On-demand analytics for providers
• Addition of the “Journey” tab
• Improved UX design

Industry recognition

The pharmaceutical industry has taken notice of the great work Annexus Health is doing to revolutionize the financial assistance cycle management process:

• AssistPoint® was recognized with the 2019 eyeforpharma award for Most Valuable Service/Digital Therapy
• Annexus Health was shortlisted for the 2020 eyeforpharma start-up challenge
• A case study of how AssistPoint® helped relieve financial toxicity at New York Cancer and Blood Specialists was published in Oncology Business Review

Internal growth

Annexus Health celebrated its 2-year anniversary in 2019; a year in which the company expanded its internal team by 50% and introduced new corporate branding, logos, and a website.

Looking forward in 2020

“At the core of everything we do is the patient,” said Brad Frazier, President, COO, and Co-Founder of Annexus Health. “In 2020, we plan to even further accelerate our goal of transforming the highly manual and fragmented administrative barriers that compound the significant challenges already facing each patient (and their provider team) into a more seamless administrative journey. With every feature we build, with every team member we on board, with every interaction we have with our valued partners, maintaining clear sight on this goal is at the center of who we are as a company.”

Later this year, Annexus Health will host the first of many Innovation Summits, providing an opportunity for providers and life science companies to come together and share ideas. Annexus Health will also participate in the 2020 eyeforpharma start-up challenge. Joe Baffone will represent the company at this exciting event in which startups battle it out with a three-minute elevator pitch to an audience of expectant pharmaceutical executives, who then vote on a winner. The eyeforpharma Start-Up Challenge will be held April 15-16, 2020 in Philadelphia.

“Our family has expanded rapidly with new customers, new employees, and contracted valued partners with more to come,” said Baffone. “The prospects and forecast for our disruptive approach to improve the way the patient care journey is managed in 2020 are incredible. Critical to Annexus taking full advantage of the opportunity and momentum going into 2020 will be how we continue to build our team, reinforce our culture of empowerment to make a difference in the lives of patients, and cultivate partnerships with other like-minded organizations. We are passionate about our work and driving change.”
